Avalon House

The Amenities

We have 10 spacious bedrooms which all consist of their own en-suites. The home is newly furnished and very modern. We also offer a beautiful large back garden with table areas to relax on.  With a communal pool room and off-side parking there is nothing Avalon house lacks when it comes to meeting the needs of our residents and guests.

We have spacious and open planned communal areas which are clean and tidy and ready for activities such as pool, PlayStation, board games or crafts.

The kitchen/ Dining area;

The kitchen is located directly on to the dining room which has 12 seats and 3 separate tables, it is very spacious and airy; juice, water and hot drinks… along with snacks and fruit are available all day within the home. Hot meals are cooked daily either by the residents or staff depending on the needs and preferences of the service users.  Supported cooking sessions go side by side with out 2 year life skills programme.

The dining area has double doors which lead on to the lounge/conservatory area so it’s easy to relax after a nice meal. Or perhaps play a game of pool.

Comfy lounge area

With a relaxing L-shape sofa and a leather suite

Our lounge area has lots of seating available and a beautiful stain glass window that lets the sunshine in, one of the buildings original features. With an adjoining conservatory leading to the garden and of course a pool table to enjoy.

With lots of natural light and open space, it’s easy to relax and enjoy the communal areas, and even have a game on the PlayStation in the lounge…

And of course…

A beautiful communal bathroom if you’re more of a “bath” person. The communal bathroom is very modern and spacious.

We also provide a communal utility room which has a washing machine and dryer alongside ironing equipment.

Avalon house is a mental health rehabilitation residential home, which offers personalised and tailored care to service users. We offer and promote a “life skills program”  which is completed by the use of person centered approaches so each service user within the home can complete the program in a way which benefits them the most.

We take pride in the care and service we offer, all of our staff are vetted rigorously prior to commencing employment. Staff are trained in-house to our standards and those of the CQC. We also ensure new staff are willing to train towards NVQs in health and social care if they do not already have this.

We aim to provide a safe, secure, fulfilling service within  our home.

Each service user is allocated a key worker who will ensure their personal needs, preferences, wishes are heard and catered for. Staff use holistic approaches to better the environment and encourage better positive outcomes for each service user.

We promote healthy living and offer several services such as cooking sessions, karaoke nights, games days, local walks and of course many trips, outings and even holidays.

The staff team pride themselves in being considerate, polite, and adaptable and ensure they are always readily available to offer the support the service users require.

With the use of weekly planners, and weekly well-being checks we can ensure no stone is unturned when it comes to support that needs highlighting.

Staff support service users to develop a productive role within the home and within the community.  Support staff will ensure service users are enabled to have access to the community and establish positive peer support from others within the home.

Our team support service users to build on their self-esteem and life skills to live more independently within the care setting.

The staff also support service users to explore wider opportunities within the community.
